Understanding Suicide

Bruce Rickard

On the 26th April 2011 our second son Adam took his life. I had been exposed to suicide previously but never someone so close. I was always puzzled by suicide. I couldn’t understand why someone would want to take their life.

Adam’s death sharply refocused my thoughts on a subject that many people find difficult to talk about. This is my journey and I’m encouraged that you want to share it with me. I’m not sure where it will take us but I trust it will instil in each of us a ‘hope for tomorrow.’
